The next edition of the Polish shooting championships in long-distance shooting is over. In the LONG Shot championships in Międzyrzecz, which took place on 24 and 25 April, the OBRSM team shot from sharpshooter\'s carbines, manufactured by the Research and Development Center in Tarnów.
In the past years, the Alex 7.62 mm carbine started in the competition, and this year, there was a possibility to present a new sharpshooter\'s carbine of caliber 8.6 mm, which outclassed the competition. The championships in Międzyrzecz were the first stage of the Polish Cup in long-distance shooting, which will end in October in Nowa Dęba. The championship was attended by over 200 sharpshooters from several countries, including the US., Germany, Austria and Belarus.
The winning carbine is a new production of OBR SM TARNÓW. The shooter used currently the strongest medium bullets, that is .338 Laupa Magnum (8.6 x 70 mm), dedicated to precise shooting in long distances. Alex 8.6 mm is a repeater, built in the bull-pup system, which, with a relatively short barrel guarantees high ballistic parameters and small size of the weapon.
